PowerFit is a community with diverse backgrounds and experiences. We are people with aspirations and goals just like you. We are students, business executives, stay-at-home moms, athletes, and grandparents. We dread the thought of not being able to do something because of physical limitations.
We seek to improve every aspect of our daily lives through fitness. To be able to perform our jobs better, to be surrounded by people who will celebrate our first pull up, to have a place to go to blow off a little steam, to try things that most adults would consider childish (which we consider cool). This is not your average gym experience. Know that we have people of all ages shapes and sizes in our gym and we scale the workouts according to your experience and ability level. From the very start, our goal is to build you up, not break you down.
PowerFit is a community of fitness-minded people from all walks of life and we provide each of them with world-class health and fitness coaching and community support. We encourage you to become a part of our family in our pursuit to stay, healthy, strong and vibrant.
Powerfit is guided by realization of the prime importance of functional movement which simply means that training built on and grounded by the natural movements of human beings (as opposed to isolation of certain body parts), will make the strongest impact upon each person. Being skilled in the activities of daily living, i.e. the normal movements done throughout every day, is ultimately what brings meaning to physical fitness. That does not mean certain deficiencies or special goals cannot be emphasized, it just means that the approach here at Powerfit is wholistic and that improvement and training must integrate the entire body.
All of our trainers are Crossfit ™ certified which has given us a certain commonality in our approach to your goals. We have taken courses such as Nutrition, TRX™, and Strength Training and have, between us, numerous nationally recognized certifications such as NASM ™ and ACE ™. We have experience in sports training and conditioning. Some of us have done fitness training in the military, others have studied fitness academically and coached and participated in college and high school sports.
The same routines are used for elderly individuals with health issues, overweight/underweight individuals and competitive athletes. We will discuss nutrition when you are ready. Our goal here is to challenge you but also to make you look forward to each Powerfit session. We will guide you and coach you to optimum health.
